Backpacking the Porcupine Mountains

This past weekend I headed up to the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park with a group of out of town friends for some backpacking.  We hiked the Lost Lake trail to Government Peak trail and spend the first night on Government Peak.  From there we went on to the Mirror Lake Trail which lead to the Escarpment Trail.  The Escarpment Trail was by far the most scenic and has a great back-country campsite at the top overlooking Lake of the Clouds which is where we decided to stay the second night.  On the last day we made our way back to Lost Lake Trail, paused for a break at Trap Falls, and finally ended up back at the Lost Lake Trail-head completing our loop.  The weather was perfect and the bugs were surprisingly minimal.
