The weather was beautiful this past Thursday evening for the last scheduled Crazy Loon paddle of the season. We set out from Elk Lake Park and paddled around Squaw Island. A young eagle, perched near the huge nest, kept a watchful eye on us as we paddled past. Our short- cut to the Elk River took us through some weeds but we all made it to the main channel. After paddling a short distance up river, we turned around and headed back to Elk Lake Park. The full moon lit up the beer garden at Meister’s Bar and Grill while we enjoyed great food, beverages and conversation. Thanks to all who joined us on one of our paddle outings this summer. We hope you enjoyed them as much as we did. Just a reminder, the Thursday Evening Paddle scheduled for August, 23, 2012 has been canceled.
