It may be warm, but there is still quite a bit of snow in the woods. This past Monday we took a short trip up the North Country Trail near Mellen. This isn’t a groomed trail so you have to set your own tracks which is quite a bit of work, however the scenery and seclusion is worth it.
The 2nd annual Phillips Flurry Snowshoe Race as a great success! Perfect weather with a few inches of snow overnight before the race and temperature in the 20′s for the race start. Results and photos have been posted on the Phillips Furry website.
Price County Wisconsin has miles and miles of hunter/walking trails that provide for some great back country skiing. Taking advantage of the 40 degree January weather we enjoyed an outing on one of these trails. If you have a favorite hunting trail or spring, summer and fall hiking trail, grab your skies and get out there in winter. It’s beautiful!
Our 2012 snowshoe clinic was a success with a nice group of enthusiastic participants. The weather and snow conditions cooperated making for a fun afternoon.
Try out snowshoeing on an easy 1/2 mile trail. Stretching techniques and tips for exercising and dressing in winter. We’ll have several varieties of snowshoes available for you to try.
