We had a fantastic paddle this past Thursday. As we were getting ready to launch at the Connors Lake Boat landing, a large Bald Eagle flew overhead just above the treetops. This was a delight for all and especially for a newcomer to the Phillips area as she had never seen a Bald Eagle before. As we paddled the connecting stream through Little Papoose Lake on our way to Lake of The Pines, we saw two more Bald Eagles perched in a tree over their large nest. The eagles kept a watchful eye on us as we paddled past. On Lake of The Pines, we spotted two Loons swimming in the distance. What a great evening. After the paddle, the service, food and beverages at The Cabin on Connors lake were superb! LIFE IS GOOD IN THE NORTHWOODS!
Hope to see you on our next Thursday Evening Paddle on Musser Lake on July 26, 2012.
