The Alpine is a great back country snowshoe from Redfeather featuring agressive crampons, strong decking, and an easy to use ratcheting binding system.
The crampons on this snowshoe are Redfeather's Eagle crampons. These are aggressive 360 degree stainless steel crampons that bite securely into hard pack or ice crusted snow. They are also powder coated to shed snow and ice.
Decking is made from TX 45 Rip Stop. This is Redfeather's strongest, most durable and abrasion resistant material that stays soft in sub zero temperatures.
Bindings are Redfeather's Epic™- Injection-molded, 3 ratchet strap system designed for quick, easy entry and release. Each strap is adjustable to fit any size shoe or boot. Just pop it off and set at the desired length. High quality rachets fine tune the fit securely and comfortably. The bindings are connected to the frame with Redfeather's Delta hinge (partially rotating toe cord) which provide improved lateral support. This feature is exclusive to the Alpine model.
The frame is constructed from extruded 6000 series Aluminum tubing with a V-tail design.
Sizing: The Alpine comes in three different lengths. Chose the length based on your total weight (your weight + weight of any gear carried).
- 25": up to 175 lbs (8" wide, 4.5 lb snowshoe weight/pr)
- 30": up to 220 lbs (8" wide, 4.8 lb snowshoe weight/pr)
- 35": 220 lbs and up (10" wide, 6.3 lb snowshoe weight/pr)
