Our truck had to portage around a downed tree on Sailor Lake Road to get to the boat landing but that wasn’t enough to stop us. Twenty boats, including one stand up paddle board and one canoe, joined us on Sailor Lake Thursday evening. We enjoyed a paddle around the rocky shore of this 168 acre lake located in the Chequamegon National Forest. Weather was beautiful. We saw an eagles nest on a small island but the eagles were not home. After the paddle we stopped for food and a beverage at Butch’s Bar and Grill.
The summer had gone by too fast. We have one more Thursday evening paddle scheduled for August 25th at Brumley’s Resort on Soo Lake. Hope you can join us!
